The Cat in the Hat - Dr. Seuss

Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss is about Conrad and Sally being locked indoor on a rainy day with their pet fish. They were so bored, and they were getting pretty upset about not being able to play outside. Conrad and Sally are home alone when along comes a big cat with a big white and red hat! They were skeptical at first, but they grew to be comfortable around Cat in the Hat. Cat in the Hat brings a box with many fun games. Cat in the Hat's games start destroying the house, and the children need to make it come to an end soon before their mom gets home. Cat in the Hat sends in helpers to clean up the house, but they only make things worse!

Use in classroom: I would use this story to build a better understanding of rhymes. Students will clap whenever they hear a rhyme.
