Amazing Grace by Mary Hoffman is an incredible story about a little girl named Grace who aspires to be anyone she wants to be. Grace is determined to play the lead role in her school's play. After many negative comments from her peers, Grace becomes discouraged. Grace learns that it is not about what people think, but what you think about yourself is what truly matters.
Use in a classroom: I would use this in my classroom to encourage students to follow their dreams, and don't let anyone tell them that they cannot do something. I would have students write about their dreams, and how they can accomplish their dreams. The class will have a discussion about how they can help others accomplish their dreams.
